Pulse

Scanning Options Activity, Pressure and Today's Range Across a Watchlist

Open Pulse in the app

Changed October 21, 2026 New guide for the Pulse page.

Quick read: the guide in 4 cards
01 / One universe

Scan a whole watchlist at once

Pulse ranks every name in the chosen universe by options activity and pressure, next to today's price range.

  • Activity
  • Pressure
  • Today's range
02 / Activity

1x is a normal day

Activity compares today's options volume with its 5-day norm, on a log scale from 0.25x to 16x.

  • Above 1x = busier than usual
  • Log scale
  • Bigger dots trade more
03 / Pressure

Which side is trading more

Pressure runs from puts on the left to calls on the right, as a multiple of its normal gap.

  • C = call pressure
  • P = put pressure
  • ! = disagrees with price
04 / Follow

Clicking a symbol follows it in every panel. Double-clicking opens it in another workspace.

What Pulse answers

Open Pulse. Pulse looks at one universe, such as a watchlist, and asks:

  1. Which names have unusual options activity today?
  2. Is the activity one-sided toward calls or puts?
  3. Does price agree with that pressure?

Click any symbol to follow it in every panel. Double-click it to open the symbol elsewhere.

Control What it sets
Universe The symbols scanned. Manage Watchlists edits your lists
Rank flow by Activity, Pressure or Divergence

The Flow loaded chip shows the time of the current snapshot.

Volume is the volume for today's trading session across all expirations within the selected scope. Pressure counts contracts traded; it does not show whether they were bought or sold.

Universe flow breadth

The strip across the top summarizes the whole universe:

Tile What it shows
Coverage How many names have data
Pressure · by names How many names lean call versus put, each counted once
Pressure · by volume The same balance weighted by each name's options volume
Activity vs 5-day norm How many names trade above 1x, one pip each, and the median
Volume concentration The share of volume in the top five names

By names and by volume can disagree. A few heavy names can lean one way while most names lean the other.

Activity & pressure

One row per symbol, ranked by your Rank flow by choice:

  • Activity: today's options volume versus its 5-day norm, on a log scale from 0.25x to 16x. 1x is a normal day.
  • Pressure: puts to the left, calls to the right, as a multiple of the normal call-versus-put gap.
  • ! marks pressure that disagrees with price, for example call pressure while price is down.
Rank flow by Ranks first
Activity The busiest names versus their norm
Pressure The most one-sided names, calls or puts
Divergence Names where pressure and price disagree, then the most active and one-sided

Intraday flow

The followed symbol's session in 5-minute buckets from 9:30 to 4:00 ET. Columns are pressure at that time, calls above zero and puts below. The line is activity. Both are multiples of their 5-day norm on one scale, with dashed ±1x guides.

Flow map

Every covered name at its true position. Right of the dashed line is above the 5-day norm; above zero is call pressure and below is put pressure. Bigger dots trade more options. Show Top 8 labels or All labels.

Today's range

Each bar runs from the day's low to its high, as percent from the prior close. The wider marker is the current change. Choose Range or Change (change only), and sort by Near High, Near Low, Widest, %Chg or Top Cap.

The header counts names up, flat and down, and the average range width.

A quick scan

  1. Rank by Activity and note the names well above 1x.
  2. Switch to Pressure to see which of them are one-sided.
  3. Switch to Divergence to find pressure that disagrees with price.
  4. Click a name to follow its intraday flow and range.
  5. Double-click to open it in Activity or another workspace.

Unusual activity and pressure are context for where to look. They do not predict direction.
